Golden text: II Thessalonians. 1:11*

To this end we always pray for you, that our God may make you worthy of his calling and may fulfill every resolve for good and every work of faith by his power,

Moral courage is requisite to meet the wrong behavior and proclaim the right.

II Samuel 17: 1-7

Ahithophel said to Absalom, “Let me choose twelve thousand men, and I will arise and pursue David tonight. I will come upon him while he is weary and discouraged and throw him into a panic, and all the people who are with him will flee. I will strike down only the king, and I will bring all the people back to you as a bride comes home to her husband. You seek the life of only one man, and all the people will be at peace.” And the advice seemed right in the eyes of Absalom and all the elders of Israel.

Then Absalom said, “Call Hushai the Archite also, and let us hear what he has to say.” And when Hushai came to Absalom, Absalom said to him, “Thus has Ahithophel spoken; shall we do as he says? If not, you speak.” Then Hushai said to Absalom, “This time the counsel that Ahithophel has given is not good.”

The physical-physician deals with physicality as both the aggravator and the reliever. The ailment is regarded as weakened or strengthened according to the evidence which physical matter presents. Conversely, the metaphysical physician makes Mind the basis of his or her operation, in spite of matter. The truth and harmony of being are regarded as superior to error and disorder, and the metaphysician is rendered strong, instead of weak, to cope with the case. The mental scientist proportionately strengthens the patient with the stimulus of courage and conscious power. Both Science and consciousness are now at work in the economy of being according to the law of Mind, which ultimately asserts its absolute supremacy.

II Samuel 17: 8-16, 22-23

Hushai said, “You know that your father and his men are mighty men, and that they are enraged, like a bear robbed of her cubs in the field. Besides, your father is expert in war; he will not spend the night with the people. Behold, even now he has hidden himself in one of the pits or in some other place. And as soon as some of the people fall at the first attack, whoever hears it will say, ‘There has been a slaughter among the people who follow Absalom.’ 10 Then even the valiant man, whose heart is like the heart of a lion, will utterly melt with fear, for all Israel knows that your father is a mighty man, and that those who are with him are valiant men. 11 But my counsel is that all Israel be gathered to you, from Dan to Beersheba, as the sand by the sea for multitude, and that you go to battle in person. 12 So we shall come upon him in some place where he is to be found, and we shall light upon him as the dew falls on the ground, and of him and all the men with him not one will be left. 13 If he withdraws into a city, then all Israel will bring ropes to that city, and we shall drag it into the valley, until not even a pebble is to be found there.” 14 And Absalom and all the men of Israel said, “The counsel of Hushai the Archite is better than the counsel of Ahithophel.” For the Lord had ordained to defeat the good counsel of Ahithophel, so that the Lord might bring harm upon Absalom.

15 Then Hushai said to Zadok and Abiathar the priests, “Thus and so did Ahithophel counsel Absalom and the elders of Israel, and thus and so have I counseled. 16 Now therefore send quickly and tell David, ‘Do not stay tonight at the fords of the wilderness, but by all means pass over, lest the king and all the people who are with him be swallowed up.’”

22 Then David arose, and all the people who were with him, and they crossed the Jordan. By daybreak not one was left who had not crossed the Jordan.

23 When Ahithophel saw that his counsel was not followed, he saddled his donkey and went off home to his own city. He set his house in order and hanged himself, and he died and was buried in the tomb of his father.

Only Science can explain the incredible good and evil elements that keep surfacing. Human beings must find protection in Truth in order to escape the errors of today. Nothing is more antagonistic to divine Science than a blind belief without understanding, for such a belief hides Truth and builds on error.

The knowledge gained from logic based on physicality leads to sin and death. When the appearance of Spirit and matter, or Truth and error, seem to intermix, the appearance rests on foundations which time is wearing away. Mortal mind judges by the evidence of the physical senses, until Science wipes out this false evidence. A logic based on spirituality improves thought, takes a step out of error and encourages the next step in understanding the situation in divine Science.

Sputnik and NASA changed the world view when launching into outer space. Setbacks happened, but courage set the precedence. Consequently, outgrown philosophies, based on what physical senses say, have become extinct. The physical law of gravity can’t define us. Space exploration, thought expansion, bravery, and open-mindedness, continues.

Albert Einstein[1] recognized, and made public, the General Theory of Relativity. Time, space, and mass are relative, or in other words not absolute. Now that time, space, and mass are better identified, they are more correctly studied and scientific corrections and modifications continue.

John 10: 31-41

31 The Jews picked up stones again to stone him. 32 Jesus answered them, “I have shown you many good works from the Father; for which of them are you going to stone me?” 33 The Jews answered him, “It is not for a good work that we are going to stone you but for blasphemy, because you, being a man, make yourself God.” 34 Jesus answered them, “Is it not written in your Law, ‘I said, you are gods’? 35 If he called them gods to whom the word of God came—and Scripture cannot be broken— 36 do you say of him whom the Father consecrated and sent into the world, ‘You are blaspheming,’ because I said, ‘I am the Son of God’? 37 If I am not doing the works of my Father, then do not believe me; 38 but if I do them, even though you do not believe me, believe the works, that you may know and understand that the Father is in me and I am in the Father.” 39 Again they sought to arrest him, but he escaped from their hands.

40 He went away again across the Jordan to the place where John had been baptizing at first, and there he remained. 41 And many came to him.

The God-inspired walk calmly on though with aching feet. Pampered hypocrites may ride on easy street here, but they can’t forever break the Golden Rule[2] and escape the penalty due. We reap what we sow.

As we triumph over erroneous views and allow Soul to hold the control, we shall detest and correct sin under all its disguises. Only in this way can we bless our enemies, though they won’t take it as a blessing. We can’t choose for ourselves, but must work out our salvation in the way Jesus taught. With humility and spiritual courage he was found preaching the good news to the spiritually responsive. Arrogance and fear are unprepared to hold up the standard of Truth, and God will never place it in such hands.

Universal facts naturally trigger anything that is false to work against its self, bringing error out from under cover. It requires courage to voice truth. The higher Truth’s voice is lifted, the louder error will scream until its inarticulate noise is forever silenced in oblivion.

We do not cross over into the vast forever of Life, but we coexist with God and the universe. Complete and infinite Mind ordained, is heaven.

I Corinthians 6: 1-3

When one of you has a grievance against another, does he dare go to law before the unrighteous instead of the saints? Or do you not know that the saints will judge the world? And if the world is to be judged by you, are you incompetent to try trivial cases? Do you not know that we are to judge angels? How much more, then, matters pertaining to this life!

Who dares to say that the senses of person can be at one time the medium for sinning against God and at another time be the medium for obeying God?

If you dare to launch your ship on the ever-agitated but healthful waters of truth, you will encounter storms. The good you do will be spoken of as evil. This is the responsibility. Be accountable. For in answering to Spirit you will win and feel the honor. Stranger on earth, your home is heaven; foreigner, you are the guest of God.

The body seems to be self-acting, only because mortal mind is ignorant of itself. The human mind is unaware of its own actions, and of their results—unaware that the inclining, outlying, and triggering cause of all bad effects is a law of so-called human mind, not of matter. Mind is the master of the physical senses and can vanquish sickness, sin, and death. Exercise this God-given power. Take possession of your body, and direct its feeling and action. Advance in the strength of Spirit to resist all that is unlike good. God has made you capable of this, and nothing can stop the ability and power divinely bestowed on your spirituality.

Be well-balanced in your understanding that the divine Mind governs, and that in Science person reflects God’s government.
