Golden text: Psalm 101:1*
I will sing of steadfast love and justice; to you, O Lord, I will make music.
I Chronicles 15:1, 16, 25-29
David built houses for himself in the city of David. And he prepared a place for the ark of God and pitched a tent for it.
16 David also commanded the chiefs of the Levites to appoint their brothers as the singers who should play loudly on musical instruments, on harps and lyres and cymbals, to raise sounds of joy.
25 So David and the elders of Israel and the commanders of thousands went to bring up the ark of the covenant of the Lord from the house of Obed-edom with rejoicing. 26 And because God helped the Levites who were carrying the ark of the covenant of the Lord, they sacrificed seven bulls and seven rams. 27 David was clothed with a robe of fine linen, as also were all the Levites who were carrying the ark, and the singers and Chenaniah the leader of the music of the singers. And David wore a linen ephod. 28 So all Israel brought up the ark of the covenant of the Lord with shouting, to the sound of the horn, trumpets, and cymbals, and made loud music on harps and lyres.
29 And as the ark of the covenant of the Lord came to the city of David, Michal the daughter of Saul looked out of the window and saw King David dancing and celebrating, and she despised him in her heart.

Mental melodies and tones of sweet music supersede conscious sound. Music is the rhythm of head and heart. Human mind is the harp of many strings, conferring either discord or harmony depending on whether the hand which sweeps over it is mortal or divine.
“Let there be light,” is the perpetual demand of Truth and Love, changing chaos into order and discord into the music of the spheres. The material theories of creation provide nothing to build on and are a far cry from views of creation as revealed by infinite Mind.
If the instrument of hearing is wholly spiritual it is normal and indestructible.
The demands of God appeal to thought only; but the claims of mortality and what are termed laws of nature, appertain to matter. Which, then, are we to accept as legitimate and capable of producing the highest human good? We cannot obey both biology and Spirit. We pay attention to one or the other. It is impossible to work from two standpoints. If we attempt it, we will, “be devoted to the one and despise the other.”
Ezekiel 33: 23-33
23 The word of the Lord came to me: 24 “Son of man, the inhabitants of these waste places in the land of Israel keep saying, ‘Abraham was only one man, yet he got possession of the land; but we are many; the land is surely given us to possess.’ 25 Therefore say to them, Thus says the Lord God: You eat flesh with the blood and lift up your eyes to your idols and shed blood; shall you then possess the land? 26 You rely on the sword, you commit abominations, and each of you defiles his neighbor’s wife; shall you then possess the land? 27 Say this to them, Thus says the Lord God: As I live, surely those who are in the waste places shall fall by the sword, and whoever is in the open field I will give to the beasts to be devoured, and those who are in strongholds and in caves shall die by pestilence. 28 And I will make the land a desolation and a waste, and her proud might shall come to an end, and the mountains of Israel shall be so desolate that none will pass through. 29 Then they will know that I am the Lord, when I have made the land a desolation and a waste because of all their abominations that they have committed.
30 “As for you, son of man, your people who talk together about you by the walls and at the doors of the houses, say to one another, each to his brother, ‘Come, and hear what the word is that comes from the Lord.’ 31 And they come to you as people come, and they sit before you as my people, and they hear what you say but they will not do it; for with lustful talk in their mouths they act; their heart is set on their gain. 32 And behold, you are to them like one who sings lustful songs with a beautiful voice and plays well on an instrument, for they hear what you say, but they will not do it. 33 When this comes—and come it will!—then they will know that a prophet has been among them.”

Society is a foolish juror, listening only to one side of the case. Justice often comes too late to secure a verdict.
Mind is not necessarily dependent on the education process. Mind possesses of itself all beauty and poetry. Mind has the power to express prose. Spirit, God, is heard when the human mind’s noise is silent. We are all capable of more than we do. The influence or action of Soul confers a freedom which explains the phenomena of excellent impromptu speeches, admirable video scripts, or meaningful texts.
If a friend informs us of a fault, do we listen patiently to the criticism and reconsider our attitude?
Effort spent living in the past, pursuing superficial goals, or showing off, is effort wasted.
As we triumph over erroneous views and allow Soul to hold the control, we shall detest and correct wrongdoing under all its disguises.
Now there was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews. 2 This man came to Jesus by night and said to him, “Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher come from God, for no one can do these signs that you do unless God is with him.” 3 Jesus answered him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.” 4 Nicodemus said to him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?” 5 Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’ 8 The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.”
9 Nicodemus said to him, “How can these things be?” 10 Jesus answered him, “Are you the teacher of Israel and yet you do not understand these things? 11 Truly, truly, I say to you, we speak of what we know, and bear witness to what we have seen, but you do not receive our testimony. 12 If I have told you earthly things and you do not believe, how can you believe if I tell you heavenly things? 13 No one has ascended into heaven except he who descended from heaven, the Son of Man. 14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up, 15 that whoever believes in him may have eternal life.
I Corinthians 15:52
In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed.

It is a question, whether the ancient inspired healers understood the Science of spiritual healing, or whether they caught its sweet tones as the natural musician catches the tones of harmony without being able to explain them. Past healers were so divinely animated with the spirit of Science, that the lack of the letter could not impede their work. The letter without the spirit voids the healing practice.
Here are four serious mistakes: Supposing that sin is forgiven before the sin is abandoned; that happiness is genuine when connected to sin; that death of the body frees us from anything unspiritual; that God will forgive a sin without destroying it. We know that all will be changed “in the twinkling of an eye,” when the last trumpet will sound; but this last call of wisdom can’t come until human beings have taken every little step to yield to the whole spiritual character. Mortals do not need to delude themselves by thinking the experience of death will awaken them to glorified being.
Thought will waken from its own materialistic declaration, “I am dead,” to catch this trumpet-word of Truth, “There is no death, no inaction, diseased action, over-action, nor reaction.”
Rhythm is not controlled by musical notes. Numbers don’t regulate the rules of mathematics. Numbers did not originate mathematics, but is manifested through mathematics. In Science, person did not originate intelligence, but is manifested through intelligence. The appearance that there is intelligence or soul inside person has no relation to the Life reality.
Romans 12: 9-18
9 Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good. 10 Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor. 11 Do not be slothful in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord. 12 Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer. 13 Contribute to the needs of the saints and seek to show hospitality.
14 Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them. 15 Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep. 16 Live in harmony with one another. Do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly. Never be wise in your own sight. 17 Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all. 18 If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all.

Whatever resembles an idea governed by Principle, furnishes food for thought. Through astronomy, art, natural history, chemistry, music, and mathematics, thought passes naturally from effect back to cause.
To develop the full might of this Science, the discords of corporeal sense must yield to the harmony of spiritual sense, even as the science of music corrects false tones and gives sweet concord to sound.
Musical notes can be arranged to make harmony. Tones of the human mind are just as diverse as musical notes, and harmony is apparent as tones of unselfish ambition, noble life-motives, and honesty blend properly. Spiritual harmony constitutes individual and collective happiness, strength, and permanence.
