Whether it’s an attitude or behavior is difficult to tell, but when we experience integrity, we generally know it.

Ezine, Psychology Today, offers “7 Signs of People with Integrity.” A few are: Parents who apologize to children for over-punishing or yelling; Anyone giving another person the benefit of the doubt when circumstances are unclear. https://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/insight-is-2020/201504/7-signs-people-integrity

Integrity is also talked about in the Bible: You may read, Proverbs 11: 1-10

Integrity is inspired in some movies, such as the 2014 film, “The Gabby Douglas Story,” by Director, Gregg Champion.

The story line is about Gabriel (Gabby) Douglas, born in 1995 in Virginia. At the age of 3 she was doing cartwheels. She moved to Iowa when she was 14-years old to train with renowned coach Liang Chow. In 2012, she and the Olympic Gymnastics Team took home the Gold Medal. Douglas went on to compete in the individual all-around event, and became the first African American to win the Gold.

Integrity allows us to overcome fear, false accusations, the desire to quit, and dishonesty.

Gabby Douglas has been quoted to say:

“Sometimes I’m like, ‘Why can’t I be a normal girl?’ But at the same time, I’m really blessed to be in this position.”

“No one is going to feel sorry for you, so you have to go out there and be fierce.”

With strong faith in God and some serious determination, every dream is possible—especially if your mama refuses to let you fly home, fry chicken and give up.”

Integrity is substantial. Many people have given integrity a name and we can too.

Christ Jesus lived integrity and it saved him from being tricked by deceivers.

Mark 12: 13-17

In regard to Jesus’ famous saying: Give to Caesar what is Caesars, and to God what is God’s, integrity is from God and we can live up to it. We can be reliable, upright, honest, and truthful.

From 21st Century Science and Health

It is the spiritualization of thought and daily practice of Christ-likeness, in contrast with the results of the ghastly farce of mortal existence, which shows forth divine Science. It is integrity and purity, which attests to the divine origin and operation of divine Science. The triumphs of spiritual Science are recorded in the destruction of the errors and evils which propagate the dismal beliefs of senselessness, hopelessness, and loss.

The skills of the gymnast prove that latent mental fears are subdued in thought. The commitment of thought to an honest achievement makes the achievement possible. Exceptions only confirm this rule, proving that failure is occasioned by a strong faith in failure.

If athletes believed it impossible to accomplish record-breaking feats, they could never do it. Their belief that they can achieve something spectacular gives their thought forces, called muscles, the flexibility and power which the unscientific might attribute to adrenaline or genes. Fear must disappear before the power of putting resolve into action can appear.

Without integrity there is no social stability and the Science of Life can’t be achieved.

Do not protect or cover up iniquity, this only prevents prosperity and the ultimate triumph of any cause. If you are unaware of the error to be eradicated, you will sometimes be abused by it.

The most Christian state is one of integrity and spiritual understanding, and this is best adapted for healing the sick.

Physicians, whom the sick employ in their helplessness, should be models of integrity. They should be wise spiritual guides to health and hope. To the frightened patient on the brink of death, physicians can be prepared to share an understanding of the Truth that is Life. When the soul is willing and the flesh is weak, the patient may be willing to learn of the ever-perpetuating Life, and plant their feet on the rock of Christ, the true idea of spiritual power.

Clergy, chaplains, and spiritual leaders, observing the world, should advance the standard of Truth. They can inspire their hearers spiritually so that listeners will love to grapple with a new right idea, and broaden their views.

The calm, strong forces of true spirituality are manifest as health, purity, and a magnanimous self. Spiritual mindedness must expand the human experience until the beliefs of temporal being are clearly exposed as impositions.

The time for thinkers has come. Truth, independent of doctrines and time-honored systems, knocks at the portal of humanity. Contentment with the past and the cold conventionality of materialism are crumbling away.

Question. What is God?

Answer. God is bodiless, divine, supreme, infinite Mind, Spirit, Soul, Principle, Life, Truth, Love.

Question. Are these terms synonymous?

Answer. They are. They refer to one absolute God. They are also intended to express the nature, essence, and fullness of Almighty God. The attributes of God are justice, mercy, integrity, wisdom, goodness, and so on

Affirm that the spiritual lawgivers, Truth, Life, and Love, are the only legitimate and eternal demands on us. Spirit enforces obedience through divine statutes.
